Position Overview

We’re seeking a WordPress Web Designer/Developer who can support our in-house team with maintenance tasks, client updates, and project-based development work. The right candidate will balance flexibility with dependability — available for collaboration and requests during core business hours (8 AM–6 PM CST), while managing their own project load efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Manage full lifecycle of small to medium website projects.
• Deliver consistent, visually polished, and responsive designs.
• Apply basic SEO and accessibility (WCAG 2.1) standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers for seamless implementation.
• Demonstrate time management and ownership of deliverables.
• Handle day-to-day WordPress maintenance and client support requests (content updates, plugin troubleshooting, page layout changes, etc.).
• Assist with new WordPress website builds, theme customization, and front-end styling.
• Support responsive design and accessibility (WCAG 2.1) compliance.
• Collaborate with our internal design and project management teams on multi-phase projects (3–6 months duration).
• Provide quick turnaround for minor updates and small projects throughout the week.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, plugin conflicts, and security alerts as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience with WordPress (themes, plugins, and builders such as Gutenberg, Divi, or Elementor).
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with cross-browser testing and mobile optimization.
• Excellent communication and availability during 8 AM–6 PM CST (for coordination, quick tasks, and client support).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with basic PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and SEO optimization.
• 4 to 6 years experience working in an agency or multi-client environment.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and best security practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
