Mid Oracle Database Developer - Remote

The Oracle Database Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Oracle database solutions. This includes expertise in PL/SQL programming, advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and schema design to deliver efficient and scalable data management aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers to implement complex business logic.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries including analytical functions, hierarchical queries, and complex joins for reporting and data manipulation.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, including tables, indexes, views, sequences, and constraints, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Work extensively with JSON data in Oracle, including parsing, querying, and transforming JSON within PL/SQL.
• Utilize Oracle JSON features such as JSON_OBJECT, JSON_ARRAY, JSON_TABLE, and JSON_VALUE for data manipulation.
• Integrate JSON based data exchange between applications and the Oracle database.
• Create and manage Oracle packages to modularize and encapsulate database logic for reuse and maintainability.
• Analyse and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code to enhance database performance and reduce resource consumption.
• Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, and business analysts to translate requirements into efficient database solutions.
• Implement data security, access control, and compliance within Oracle environments.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot SQL execution issues, and resolve locking or deadlock conflicts.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including schema designs, data models, and code documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and testing to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Provide ongoing production support and resolve database related issues promptly.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience as an Oracle Database Developer with advanced PL/SQL programming skills.
• Proficient in developing and maintaining stored procedures, functions, triggers, and especially packages.
• Expertise in advanced SQL including complex joins, set operations, analytical/window functions, and hierarchical queries.
• Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture, schema design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience in performance tuning of SQL queries and PL/SQL code for high volume transactional systems.
• Familiarity with database version control, deployment, and automation tools.
• Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
• Ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into scalable database designs.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is advantageous.
• Strong problem solving skills and effective communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification.
• Hands on experience with Oracle development and management tools such as SQL*Plus, Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, and Data Pump.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration related to Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python) to automate database tasks.
• Exposure to cloud-based Oracle platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is a plus.

Budget: 150k - 200k (gross salary)
