Middle School Math and English Teacher

Job Overview/Objectives

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Middle School Teacher to inspire and nurture our middle school students. Our teaching position requires a professional who is committed to ensuring that every student achieves their potential while fostering a strong Christian environment. The teacher is responsible for supervising, educating, and supporting students to help them accomplish learning objectives while creating a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation. This candidate should be able to display a teaching style that keeps students focused.

Duties/Responsibilites

  • Classroom management
  • Parent communication — responding to parent emails/messages, updating families on behavior or academics, documenting concerns, and looping in administration when required. All communication goes through MySchoolWorx.
  • Conference documentation — scheduling parent meetings with assistance from the office (in person/phone/email), then completing required paperwork afterward and attaching message records.
  • Maintain a substitute folder — keeping emergency lesson plans, class rosters, schedules, procedures, medical alerts, and important classroom information ready in case you’re absent.
  • Supervision duties before/after school — assigned duty days where you monitor students before school starts or after dismissal (generally two days per week).
  • Lesson planning and teaching — creating lesson plans in MySchoolWorx, teaching Abeka curriculum, and managing daily instruction.
  • Grading and maintaining both digital and paper records — entering grades online while also keeping a handwritten backup gradebook in case of power outages
  • Tutoring abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts preferably in Education or comparable field
  • Possess a Florida teaching license or FACCS certification
  • Maintain current teaching certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
  • Familiarity with the ABeka teaching curriculum is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills

Pay: $32,000.00 - $34,500.00 per year
