The TGT Mathematics teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in alignment with the Cambridge International Curriculum, fostering critical thinking, and preparing students for global assessments. The teacher is expected to engage students in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world applications, while adapting to the diverse learning needs of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons based on the Cambridge Mathematics curriculum for middle school grades (typically classes 6-10).
- Ensure lessons meet the standards of the Cambridge framework, including topics such as number theory, algebra, geometry, and data handling.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance mathematical understanding.
- Student Assessment:
- Regularly assess students’ understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint exams or other relevant international assessments.
- Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a well-managed, inclusive, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Ensure that all students are actively engaged in the lesson and accommodate varied learning styles and abilities.
- Use differentiated instruction to cater to individual student needs.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated with changes and advancements in the Cambridge curriculum.
- Attend professional development workshops and training to improve teaching practices and subject knowledge.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and participate in cross-curricular activities.
- Student Support:
- Provide additional support to students who are struggling with mathematical concepts.
- Offer remedial classes or one-on-one tutoring sessions when needed.
- Foster a growth mindset and encourage students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, school management, and parents to support students' academic and emotional development.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the subject matter and teaching pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
