Middle School Math Teacher
Location: Legacy Academy of Excellence (Columbus Campus)
Reports to: Building Principal

Position Summary:
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for implementing a rigorous, standards-based math curriculum that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, and mathematical fluency. The teacher will deliver engaging lessons that support students’ academic growth and foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. This position requires a strong commitment to student success, data-driven instruction, and collaborative professional practice.

• 1–5 years of math teaching experience preferred
• Valid Ohio Teaching License in Mathematics or active application for a substitute license (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (required)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons that promote conceptual understanding and procedural fluency
• Differentiate instruction to support students at varying levels of mathematical proficiency
• Use data from assessments to inform instruction and track student progress
• Design and administer both formative and summative assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, perseverance, and a growth mindset
• Maintain clear academic and behavioral expectations aligned with school policies
• Participate in grade-level meetings, professional learning communities, and school events
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and staff
• Provide targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities to support mastery of math standards
• Uphold the mission, core values, and code of conduct of Legacy Academy of Excellence
• Engage in continuous professional development and reflective teaching practices
• Support the integration of real-world and STEAM-related math applications into instruction
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
