Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty. The teacher will inspire students in grades 6–8 through engaging lessons. All materials and curriculum are provided, and our Curriculum Coordinator offers ongoing coaching, feedback, and check-ins throughout the year to support lesson pacing, classroom management, and student engagement.

In addition to teaching science, the teacher will also lead a short Middle School Skills class for 6th and 7th graders. This course meets four periods per week, using one consistent lesson plan per week, and focuses on helping students strengthen executive functioning, organization, and study skills.

Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday: 12:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
• Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Teach middle school science to grades 6–8 (materials and curriculum provided).
• 6th Grade: Fundamentals of Life Science; 7th Grade: Anatomy and Physiology; 8th Grade: Fundamentals of Physical Science
• Create an engaging classroom environment.
• Teach weekly Middle School Skills lesson (executive functioning and study habits).
• Supervise students during recess and other assigned duties.
• Participate in regular coaching and collaboration with the Curriculum Coordinator.

Qualifications:

• Teaching experience, particularly with middle school students, strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to commit to the schedule through mid-June.
• Willingness to adhere to the school’s professional dress code and values.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $45–$50, commensurate with experience.
