Position Title: Middle School Science Teacher (W2)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Annual Salary: $63,500 – $72,000 + Benefits
Reports To: High School Principal & Vice Principal
The Middle School Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging, hands-on science lessons that inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and build problem-solving skills. The teacher will be responsible for maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment while supporting the school’s mission and academic goals.
- Design and implement NGSS-aligned science lessons consistent with the school’s curriculum and philosophy.

Create and supervise safe and engaging laboratory experiments , ensuring all lab safety protocols are followed.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English language learners, and advanced students.

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Integrate technology and real-world applications to make science learning relevant and interactive.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and participation .

Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to ensure alignment between academic goals and student outcomes.
- Participate in school-wide planning, professional learning communities (PLCs), and decision-making processes .

Support the school’s mission: “We Are a Community of Builders” , through curriculum design, educational excursions, and student-centered activities.

Mentor peers when appropriate and maintain consistent communication with administrators, families, and staff.
- Adhere to all New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) teaching standards .
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred .

Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Science (Grades 6–12)
- Minimum two years of classroom teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge of lab safety procedures and scientific inquiry methods .

Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) .

Strong classroom management , communication , and collaboration skills.

Commitment to lifelong learning , professional development, and reflective teaching practices.
