Middle School Tanach Teacher
Kohelet Yeshiva Middle School, an educationally progressive, K-8 Modern Orthodox Day School located in Merion Station, Pennsylvania, seeks a dynamic and talented educator for the position of Tanach Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Tanach Teacher position is envisioned as a full day position encompassing Chumash and Navi instruction for a multi-age, middle school, learning environment.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to:

  • inspire Middle School students in developmentally appropriate ways to connect to Hashem through the study of Torah and the performance of mitzvot.

  • lead a mixed age and ability class along with other teaching team members.

  • work collaboratively to design and implement project-based and integrated curricula.

  • utilize research-based best practices in subject instruction to create rigorous, dynamic, skill-building, learning environments for middle schoolers.

  • demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, and create a positive classroom culture that fosters student ownership, creativity and problem-solving.

  • assess students in a variety of ways, and use data to assist student growth, self-reflection, and instruction.

  • determine students’ academic and social-emotional learning goals, ensure they’re met, and regularly communicate them to colleagues, parents, and students.

  • be active in the school community (attend events at KYMS, including professional development, and open house events, among others).

Qualifications
The successful candidate will:

  • role model for students how to live a life steeped in ahavat Hashem and yir’at Hashem both inside and outside of school.

  • have a degree/graduate degree in Judaic Studies, Jewish Education, and/or Semicha.

  • feel comfortable teaching and developing Judaic studies curricula in a multi-age, differentiated, learning environment.

  • be comfortable with Ivrit.

  • have prior experience with creating child-centered learning activities, and classroom teaching experience with MS students.

  • Demonstrate a reflective mindset, intellectual curiosity, and leadership potential.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
