Middle School/Upper Elementary Spanish Teacher Position - Begins August 2026

Annunciation Catholic School seeks a full-time Middle School Spanish Teacher (4th-8th Grade) for the 2026-27 school year. This position includes at least 3 days of Spanish classes to 6th-8th Grade students and at least 2 days of Spanish classes for 4th and 5th Grade students. Other academic responsibilities may be added to create a 1.0 FTE teaching position. We are open to new ideas with our Spanish program. Our program goal is that students who complete our Middle School will test out of Level 1 Spanish in High School and have a genuine appreciation for the Spanish language and awareness of Hispanic cultures and heritages.

Annunciation is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic school in the heart southwest Minneapolis. We are Minnesota’s only Catholic, International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school! Our mission is to foster each child’s potential to create a better world through faith, virtue, knowledge, and service to others. We strive to meet students and families where they are at on their faith journeys and inspire them to put their faith into action through engaging teaching, intentional and relational service-learning and engaging and meaningful liturgies. Serving students and families since 1923, we currently serve over 340 students ages 3-14, with middle school class sizes ranging from 18-24 students per class. Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 30 teachers and a support staff that includes classroom aides, paraprofessionals, and mental health professionals to support all of our learners and educators thrive.

We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and passionate middle school teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. This teacher will be part of a collaborative team, helping create a positive, engaging environment for learning. This role serves as a Middle School team member but also collaborates across grade levels for 4th and 5th Grade Spanish programming and schoolwide cultural activities, events, and practices. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary Range: $40k-$75k commensurate with credentials and experience

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency and confidence in the Spanish Language
• Familiarity with diverse Hispanic cultures
• Awareness of best practices in teaching foreign languages
• Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment
• Experience with trauma-informed practices and settings
• Ability to apply understanding of child development (physical, emotional, and academic) in classroom
• Ability to interact and clearly communicate with children, parents, and staff members
• Ability to create a meaningful, inviting learning environment to meet the needs of our students in partnership with families
• Strong classroom management skills
• Knowledge of the Catholic faith, Catholic Social Teaching preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
• Current Minnesota Department of Education Teaching Licensure (or pending) preferred
