Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations, primarily using MIG techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of welding processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Operate MIG welding equipment to join metal components according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Use TIG welding techniques when required to ensure precise and high-quality welds.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics related to fabrication projects.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively for fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Work with sheet metal and other materials to produce components with accurate dimensions.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of welding machinery to optimise performance.
- Conduct quality checks on welds and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, providing support as needed for assembly tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG welding.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly and sheet metal work.
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
- Experience with sheet metal handling and assembly is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in quality control processes.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
