The Mini Bar Attendant is responsible for stocking, maintaining, and accurately accounting for in-room mini bar products and related amenities. This role ensures mini bars are clean, well-presented, fully stocked to standard, and billed accurately while maintaining inventory controls, organization, and compliance with hotel policies.

Key Responsibilities

Mini Bar Stocking & Servicing

  • Stock and replenish mini bar items in assigned guestrooms according to par levels and brand standards.
  • Check expiration dates, rotate product, and remove any expired or damaged items.
  • Clean and organize mini bars, drawers, and surrounding areas to ensure a polished guest presentation.
  • Ensure mini bar equipment (cooling units, locks, sensors if applicable) is functioning and report issues promptly.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Record all mini bar consumption accurately and submit for posting to guest folios using established systems and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate counts of mini bar product, glassware, and supplies; document daily usage, restocks, and variances.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing storage, and maintaining a secure mini bar storeroom.
  • Support cycle counts and full inventories as scheduled; help investigate shortages and discrepancies.

Guest Service & Standards

  • Respect guest privacy and follow “Do Not Disturb” and room access procedures at all times.
  • Respond professionally to guest questions regarding mini bar items and charges; escalate concerns to leadership when needed.
  • Maintain professional appearance and uphold Grand Hyatt service standards.

Safety, Compliance & Sanitation

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines for handling packaged items and beverages.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices and proper handling/storage of products.
  • Comply with age-restricted product policies (alcohol controls), key control, and cash/transaction procedures if applicable.

Support & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office regarding room access, service timing, VIP requests, and room status.
  • Communicate supply needs and par adjustments to leadership; assist with menu updates or seasonal product changes as assigned.
  • Support related projects such as amenity set-ups, VIP welcome items, or in-room refresh programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and manage time efficiently across multiple rooms.
  • Basic math and comfort using a handheld device, phone app, or computer system for tracking/posting (systems vary).
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/push/pull up to moderate weight (cases, bins, carts).
  • Prior experience in hotel housekeeping, in-room dining, inventory, retail, or food & beverage is preferred.
  • Experience with inventory controls, posting systems, or mini bar platforms (property dependent) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of alcohol compliance procedures and secure storeroom practices is a plus.
