Position Overview:

In this role the misc. metal welder will consistently produce quality welds and perform other associated tasks. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in welding miscellaneous metals within a structural steel fabrication shop. The welder will have advanced knowledge of weld symbols on shop drawings. This position requires productive individuals with a high aptitude in shop drawings and experience with the tools of the trade and basic troubleshooting skills. This position is being offered to local candidates within a 25-mile radius. Per Diem and relocation are not being offered. Entry level candidates will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a safe work environment for self and team members.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret shop drawings weld symbols and specifications.
• Determining what materials, tools and equipment are necessary to perform the tasks.
• Identifying and selecting proper procedures, materials and settings (i.e. selecting proper rods, wire, flux, feed, pressure volts and amps).
• Advanced ability to weld in varying positions.
• Producing quality welds consistently.
• Overhead crane operations.
• Adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.

Requirements:

• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Steel Miscellaneous Metal flux core and sub-arc welding. Entry level candidates will not be considered for this position.
• Must be committed to organizational safety.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as a team structure.
• Ability to work year-round in extreme temperature variations.
• Must have advanced knowledge of welding concepts.
• Must have reliable transportation and live within a 25-mile radius.
• Candidates are required to successfully pass pre-employment screenings including background check, physical examination, and substance abuse screenings.
