As an MGX Shop Crane Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of lifting equipment—mobile cranes and boom trucks included—while reporting to the Service Manager. You’ll be the expert customers count on to keep their fleets safe, compliant, and performing to OEM specs.
- $4,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of continuous service

- Operate and meticulously inspect cranes to pinpoint defects and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes, including hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Evaluate parts for wear using micrometers and gauges; interpret parts/operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems post-repair or modification to confirm proper operation and OEM compliance.
- Stage work by verifying parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct thorough, accurate annual inspections.
- Document work clearly: job reports, time sheets/hours overviews, and expense reports.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while delivering excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED; 2+ years as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
- Hands-on experience with mobile crane lines such as Grove RT & TMS, Grove GMK European cranes, Manitowoc EPIC and Traditional, and National boom trucks preferred.
- Ability to read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency preferred.
- Personal tool set required: full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.
- Always perform job functions safely and wear required PPE.
- Follow all job-specific, facility-wide safety procedures and rules.
- Engage in safety training and demonstrate competency.
- Report or correct unsafe acts/conditions and share safety suggestions with management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
