Mobile Plant Fitter

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fabrication, mechanical and electrical systems, and be capable of performing precise assembly and maintenance tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, soldering, and interpreting schematics. The successful applicant will contribute to the efficient operation of machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and optimal performance across various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams to guide assembly and repairs
  • Perform welding and soldering tasks to repair or create components in accordance with specifications
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery such as excavators, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
  • Repair or replace faulty parts to minimise downtime and optimise operational efficiency
  • Assist with equipment calibration, testing, and modifications as required
  • Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or repair activities
  • Provide excellent customer service by liaising with clients regarding equipment issues or repairs when necessary

Experience

  • Proven experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, and interpreting schematics
  • Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for assembly and repair tasks
  • Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts is preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for industrial equipment and machinery repair processes
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of safety compliance
  • Prior experience in customer service roles related to technical support is advantageous

Pay: £26,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
