Modeling & Simulation Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team.

We are specifically seeking a candidate to lead modeling and simulation efforts to support development of the next generation of XR devices, from concept to advanced prototypes. Key responsibilities leading modeling and simulation efforts in support of R&D projects. The chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to innovative technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Modeling & Simulation Engineer Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of Researchers and Engineers to develop high-performance, flexible Energy Harvesting and Storage Systems
• Perform Finite Element (FEA) modeling and simulations using Ansys, COMSOL, or similar software (Ansys strongly preferred)
• Interpret FEA results and provide physical explanations and possible solutions to problems
• Recommend design changes/directions to meet device performance requirements, participate in team brainstorming and new technology development
• Perform mechanical design of prototype devices and testbeds
• Lead model verification and validation. Design data collection/testing methods and plans. Work closely with partner teams to inform model development and validation.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar discipline.
• 3+ years experience in static and dynamic FEA preferably in high volume consumer electronic products.
• Proficiency in developing scripts to automate thermal and mechanical simulations and Optimization
• Experience with FEA tools (COMSOL or ANSYS).
• Experience with CAD tools (NX, Solidworks).
• Proficient in Matlab and Python scripting

Desired Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with critical thinking, structured problem solving, and practical application of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Analysis (Montecarlo).
• Demonstrated experience working effectively and efficiently with diverse teams.
• Good organization skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Experience in Electronics Reliability, E-CAD/M-CAD File Conversion
• Experience with scripting for model parameterization (Ansys APDL). Experience with cloud computing, simulation parallelization, automation and GPU acceleration.
• Experience with MEMS Multiphysics Analysis & Reduced Order Modeling a plus
• Experience with Multi-Disciplinary Optimization is a plus
• Experience with Multiphysics Topology Optimization is a plus
• Experience with CFD Analysis is considered a plus
• Experience with open source FEA tools (Fenics etc.) is a plus
• Experience with electromagnetics, wireless architecture, RF silicon systems is a plus
• Good organization skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Excellent communication and people skills
