Modern Trade Manager

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

We are looking for a Modern Trade Manager with strong experience in the FMCG sector and a proven track record in modern trade to join our team in Jeddah. This is a critical role that will drive our growth and strengthen our presence with leading retailers across the Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key modern trade customers (Carrefour, Panda, Danube, HyperPanda, etc.), ensuring alignment with their business needs and priorities.
  • Sales Growth: Deliver annual sales targets and profitability objectives by maximising opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Business Planning: Develop and implement joint business plans with customers, including promotional calendars, category development initiatives, and innovation launches.
  • Negotiations: Lead negotiations on pricing, trade terms, listings, and visibility to secure a competitive advantage and ensure product availability across stores.
  • Category Development: Work closely with customers to strengthen category positioning, ensuring optimal shelf placement, assortment, and promotional execution.
  • Market Intelligence: Track competitor activities, consumer trends, and category insights to identify gaps and new opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain to ensure smooth stock availability, with marketing to drive brand visibility, and with finance on account profitability.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide accurate sales forecasts, track performance against KPIs, and recommend corrective actions to maximise results.
  • Compliance: Ensure all trade agreements, contracts, and promotional activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5–8 years of progressive sales/account management experience in FMCG.
  • Modern Trade Expertise: Strong network and experience managing modern trade accounts in Saudi Arabia.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of achieving sales targets, driving category growth, and negotiating favourable trade terms.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse market data, sales reports, and P&L to support decision-making.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills to build trust and secure win-win agreements.
  • Leadership: Ability to work cross-functionally and lead discussions with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Location: Based in Jeddah or open to relocation within Saudi Arabia.
  • Language: Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is an advantage.
