Job/Role Description:
- 8+ years of Hands-on experience administering Jira and Confluence in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience with at least one Atlassian Data Center or Server to Cloud migration.
- Strong understanding of Jira project configurations, workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screens, custom fields, and issue types.
- Experience managing Confluence spaces, page templates, and permissions at an organizational scale.
- Familiarity with custom development artifacts in Jira (Script Runner, Groovy scripts, REST API customizations) and experience assessing Cloud compatibility.
- Solid understanding of user and group management, SSO/SAML configuration, and license management in Atlassian Cloud.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to gather requirements and translate them into platform configurations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Platform Administration:
- 8 + years of experience, Serve as the primary business-side Atlassian platform administrator for Jira and Confluence.
- Create and configure Jira projects, including defining project types, workflows, issue hierarchies, boards, screens, and custom fields.
- Set up and manage Confluence spaces, page templates, and page hierarchies aligned with team and business needs.
- Manage user permissions, roles, and group memberships across Jira and Confluence.
- Oversee license management, track usage, allocate and revoke licenses, and provide regular reporting to leadership.
- Administer integrations between Atlassian tools and other enterprise systems.
- Monitor platform health, perform routine maintenance, and stay current with Atlassian Cloud release notes and feature updates.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Atlassian-related issues and serve as the internal subject matter expert.
Cloud Migration Coordination:
- 6+ years of experience, Serve as the primary business-side coordinator for the Jira and Confluence on-premises-to-Cloud migration, working in close partnership with the internal IT team and Atlassian professional services.
- Audit existing on-premises configurations including custom workflows, issue types, screens, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Identify and document custom development work (e.g., ScriptRunner scripts, custom plugins, Groovy scripts, REST API integrations) and coordinate remediation or replacement in the Cloud environment.
- Assess third-party add-ons and Marketplace apps for Cloud compatibility, recommend and help implement Cloud alternatives where needed.
- Develop and execute migration test plans, validate data integrity, workflow behavior, and integrations post-migration.
- Communicate migration timelines, impacts, and cutover plans to stakeholders and end users.
- Create user training materials and conduct onboarding sessions to support the transition to Atlassian Cloud.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement:
- 6+ Years of Experience, Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into effective Jira and Confluence configurations.
- Analyze and optimize existing workflows and project structures to improve team efficiency and data quality.
- Produce dashboards, filters, and reports to provide visibility into project status, capacity, and KPIs.
- Document platform standards, governance policies, and best practices for administrators and end users.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Atlassian Platform Administrator & Business Analyst to serve as the primary business-side Atlassian platform administrator for Jira and Confluence.
This individual will play a key role in coordinating the migration of our on-premises Jira and Confluence environments to Atlassian Cloud, partnering with our internal IT team and Atlassian professional services, while also owning day-to-day platform administration, governance, and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on, business-facing role that bridges technical administration with stakeholder engagement to ensure our Atlassian tools deliver maximum value across the organization.
