Mold Specilalist 2nd shift

How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - Dallas team, located in Dallas, TX (on-site). As a Mold Set-Up Specialist, he is responsible for the proper installation, removal, and mechanical setup of molds, machines, and auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and efficient production of high-quality parts. This role configures downstream automation, supports mold changeovers, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and ensures equipment is ready for operation. The specialist works closely with Machine Shop, Maintenance, and Production teams, completes inspections and audits, and continually develops technical skills. This position may require the employee to work on various types of equipment and in multiple areas as needed to fulfill job responsibilities and business needs.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and sets up molding machines, stacker equipment, print and machine shop equipment.
  • Installs and removes module plate sets in frames installed in molding machine.
  • Installs and removes frames from molding machines.
  • Operates clamp and ejector functions on molding machines required for setting up.
  • Ensures proper placement of packing tables and downstream automation following mold change.
  • Communicates and problem-solves with Machine Shop personnel (molds) and with Maintenance personnel (molding machines).
  • Sets up, tests, and optimizes stacker system and conveyor operation after mold changes.
  • Maintains cleanliness of stackers and accessory equipment.
  • Adheres to all SQF, HACCP and PPE rules and regulations.
  • Conducts product checks, inspections and follow-ups.
  • Maintains required records and files.
  • Coordinates inspection and disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Measures product using gauges, calipers and micrometers.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization to include presentation of quality subject matter to teams and focus groups.
  • Conducts process, product and system audits and completes follow-up reports.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management.
  • Meets safety, housekeeping and attendance expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains Airlite Plastics attendance standards.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Complete and pass a technical aptitude test.
  • Completion of Mold Specialist training is required.
  • Previous mechanical or technical experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting using processing skills preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory personnel responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and may assist with training other team members.
