ZL Chemicals is an international manufacturing company with operations across Oman, Kuwait, Canada, and the United States. We are currently developing a state-of-the-art polymer manufacturing plant in Sohar, designed to be one of the largest and most technologically advanced facilities in the region. We are looking for motivated and reliable candidates to join our growing team and support the safe and efficient operation of this new facility.


Position Summary

The Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising team-level production activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This role oversees daily production execution, safety compliance, shift handovers, staff discipline, and equipment checks. The Foreman serves as the first-line leader for the team, ensuring timely communication, rapid response to issues, and completion of production targets.


Main Responsibilities

  • Organize team members to study and implement company and department safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety education for new employees and supervise their operational performance.
  • Check PPE (personal protective equipment) compliance and ensure all team members meet labor protection requirements.
  • Maintain workplace hygiene and ensure proper and complete shift handovers.
  • Lead by example in following labor discipline and strictly enforcing all process regulations and operating procedures.
  • Address and correct any actions that may affect product quality or yield; provide guidance, support, and coordination across all workstations.
  • Identify production bottlenecks promptly and organize team resources to ensure smooth and timely completion of production tasks.
  • Inspect equipment regularly, with particular attention to critical equipment such as refrigeration units and air compressors; promptly identify and resolve potential equipment hazards.
  • Participate in general accident investigations and implement corresponding safety measures.
  • Detect and resolve safety hazards; record issues clearly and report unresolved problems immediately.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies; organize rescue actions, secure the site, and report incidents without delay.
  • Strengthen inspection of acrylonitrile feeding pipelines and tank areas, report abnormalities in a timely manner.
  • Oversee night security, emergency response, and incident reporting for the team.
  • Continuously improve technical competencies and leadership skills through ongoing learning.
  • Perform other duties assigned by workshop leadership.

Qualifications

  • College degree or above
  • Major in Chemical Engineering or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in polymer production or related industrial processing
  • Ability to follow operating procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or utility systems is preferred
  • Strong sense of safety, discipline, and operational responsibility
  • Reliable, attentive, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills and strong teamwork mindset

Language Requirement

English Level: A2 (Basic Operational English)

  • Ability to understand and use everyday expressions related to work tasks.
  • Ability to communicate operational issues using simple words and phrases.
  • Ability to read basic work instructions with the support of diagrams or visual aids.

Other Information

Work Environment: Indoor, equipment-operation setting
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts (3/2 system)
