Mortgage Closer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mortgage Closer to manage and coordinate all aspects of residential loan closings across both consumer direct and wholesale channels. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, compliant, and timely closing experience for borrowers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in government and specialty loan products, including FHA, Down Payment Assistance (DPA), and construction/renovation loans, along with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and closing best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, audit, and deliver complete and compliant closing disclosure packages (CDs) and loan documents for funding
  • Coordinate and facilitate loan closings across consumer direct and wholesale (TPO) channels, partnering with borrowers, brokers, title/escrow, settlement agents, and internal teams to meet timelines and service-level expectations
  • Demonstrated expertise in Conventional, FHA, DPA, and construction/renovation loan products (OTC, 203(k), Homestyle)
  • Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to agency, and regulatory guidelines (TRID, RESPA, TILA)
  • Manage and clear closing conditions, balance closing figures, including fees, escrows, and disbursements, with a high degree of accuracy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all closing-related communication and issue resolution
  • Prepare and review post-consummation Closing Disclosures (post-closing CDs) as required
  • Monitor pipeline and maintain accurate closing schedules to meet funding deadlines
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively to avoid closing delays or post-closing defects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of mortgage closing experience, preferably in a multi-channel lending environment (consumer direct and wholesale)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state compliance regulations, including TRID and disclosure timing requirements
  • Proficiency with LOS platforms and document preparation systems
  • Advanced ability to review and balance Closing Disclosures with precision
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
