Position can be located anywhere within the Arvest four state operational footprint. (OK,KS,MO, AR)

Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with additional hours as needed.

Summary:

Job Summary

The Mortgage Closer prepares and reviews residential mortgage closing documents for compliance with all regulations (including RESPA/TRID). Duties include communicating with associates and title agents, performing data entry, approving the loan to close, and authorizing the final disbursement of funds.

Responsibilities

  • Review all relevant closing documentation and system screens to prepare and issue closing instructions and the initial Closing Disclosure (CD) in compliance with RESPA/TRID.
  • Coordinate with title companies/closing agents to balance and finalize the Closing Disclosure, ensuring compliance with the Real Estate Purchase Contract and all underwriting and regulatory criteria (including Mavent/QM compliance checks).
  • Verify the validity of the interest rate lock, submit the Funding Worksheet, and authorize/approve the final disbursement of funds to the closing agents.
  • Respond promptly to closing-related questions from sales teams, managers, post-closing, and closing agents.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant mortgage programs, servicing/closing changes, and agency, investor, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policies, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
  • Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

Experience

  • 2 years of mortgage/escrow/title company or equivalent related experience.
  • Working knowledge of agency, investor and state and federal regulatory guidelines and lending laws required.
  • Working knowledge of all real estate regulatory laws, including but not limited to RESPA, TRID, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Lending, Reg B (ECOA), Reg C (HMDA), Flood Act and Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines required.
  • Required: A complete understanding of the closing costs, fees and applicable state laws and federal regulations.
  • Required: Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: Accounting or compliance experience.
  • Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Education

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree.

Grade 13

Pay Range: $22.50 - $28.10 per hour
