Mortgage Foreclosure Defense Associate Attorney

Kyle & Kyle Law, a Florida-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Mortgage Foreclosure Defense Associate Attorney. The primary focus of this role will be defending mortgage foreclosure cases, with additional responsibilities in probate matters, foreclosure surplus funds cases, and business litigation.

The attorney will manage an existing and growing caseload with the firm in a fully remote capacity. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience practicing as an attorney in a mortgage foreclosure law firm. Admission to the Florida Bar is required, and additional admission—or willingness to seek admission—in Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana, or New York is a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend mortgage foreclosure cases from start to finish, including drafting and reviewing motions, answers, affirmative defenses, discovery requests and responses, proposed orders, and other case filings.
  • Manage probate matters, foreclosure surplus funds cases, and business litigation matters as assigned.
  • Attend hearings and represent clients in court as needed.
  • Communicate with clients, potential clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain calendars for deadlines and prepare for hearings.
  • Track time and case activity in MyCase (case management software).
  • Timely follow-up on emails and other communications.
  • Conduct client consultations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience practicing as an attorney in a mortgage foreclosure law firm.
  • Licensed to practice in Florida, and ideally also licensed (or willing to become licensed) in Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana, or New York.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with judges, clients, opposing counsel, and staff.
  • Superior organization and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to adapt and improve processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with MyCase, Box, Zoom Phone, 8x8, and other software is a plus.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical, professional, and confidential standards.
  • Knowledge and application of legal research tools (e.g., Lexis) preferred.

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience.
  • Competitive salary range: $75,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Remote position
