Position Summary

We are hiring a Loan Opener (Wholesale) to support our growing pipeline. This role is responsible for reviewing and setting up new loan files accurately and efficiently, ensuring each file is properly structured from day one.

This is a critical role in the loan lifecycle and directly impacts turn times, loan quality, and broker experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review newly submitted loan files for completeness and accuracy
• Enter and structure loan data in the Loan Origination System (LOS) (Meridian Link)
• Analyze income, assets, credit, and property documentation
• Ensure files meet program and investor guidelines (Non-QM, DSCR, Bank Statement, etc.)
• Identify missing or incorrect documentation and communicate with brokers and Account Executives
• Assign loans to appropriate workflow queues
• Maintain file quality and ensure a clean handoff to processing and underwriting
• Meet internal service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround expectations

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of mortgage experience in loan setup, loan opening, or processing
• Wholesale mortgage experience preferred
• Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and loan structure
• Experience working with mortgage brokers and third-party originators
• MeridianLink experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Non-QM products (DSCR, Bank Statement, etc.) preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
