Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mortgage Loan Originator In Training. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of mortgage lending processes within a dynamic financial services environment. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in loan origination, customer service, and compliance with industry regulations, paving the way for future advancement in mortgage banking and sales.

Duties

  • Assist senior loan officers in processing and preparing mortgage loan applications, ensuring all documentation complies with FNMA standards and Fair Housing regulations.
  • Support the loan origination process by gathering borrower information, performing credit analysis, and verifying financial data using software such as Quicken and other financial tools.
  • Learn to evaluate borrower qualifications through basic math, credit analysis, and understanding of escrow, underwriting, and loan processing procedures.
  • Help coordinate with clients to explain loan options, contracts, TILA disclosures, and other relevant documentation while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Support the review of loan files for accuracy and completeness before submission for underwriting approval.
  • Maintain organized records using accounting software and financial software applications, including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
  • Stay informed on banking practices, mortgage servicing guidelines, and compliance requirements related to loans and contracts.

Experience

  • Prior experience in financial sales or customer service roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, mortgage servicing, underwriting, or loan officer experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with accounting or financial software such as Quicken are beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations, TILA disclosures, escrow processes, and credit analysis will be developed during training.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and deliver exceptional customer service are essential.
  • Experience with loan origination or processing systems is a plus but not required; comprehensive training will be provided to develop expertise in these areas. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,805.82 - $164,798.41 per year
