The Mother Teacher plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. They are responsible for fostering the holistic development of students through engaging activities, personalized attention, and a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth. The Mother Teacher acts as a primary caregiver and educator, building a strong foundation for future academic success.
Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Management and Instruction:
- Create a warm, welcoming, and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum based on established guidelines and educational philosophies (e.g., Montessori, Play-based learning).
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in areas such as language development, literacy, numeracy, art, music, and physical education.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Observe and assess individual student progress, providing feedback to parents and school administration.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting positive social interactions and conflict resolution skills.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
- Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
2. Child Development and Care:
- Provide personalized attention and care to each child, addressing their individual needs and concerns.
- Foster the development of social-emotional skills, including empathy, cooperation, and self-regulation.
- Assist children with daily routines, such as toileting, handwashing, and meal times.
- Promote healthy habits and hygiene practices.
- Recognize and address signs of distress or developmental delays, communicating with parents and school administration as needed.
- Build strong, positive relationships with each child, creating a sense of security and belonging.
3. Parent Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide feedback on student performance.
- Collaborate with parents to address any concerns or challenges related to their child's learning or behavior.
- Organize and participate in school events and activities, fostering a strong school-parent community.
- Inform parents of school policies and procedures.
4. Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in early childhood education.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Early Childhood Education (required).
- Proven experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles.

- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
