Mother Teacher – Job Description

A Mother Teacher is responsible for handling one class throughout the year, ensuring the overall academic, emotional, and social development of students. She acts as a guide, caregiver, and facilitator to create a safe and joyful learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Management

Maintain a positive, child-friendly, and disciplined classroom.

Develop routines that support smooth daily functioning.

Ensure safety, cleanliness, and hygiene within the classroom.

Teach all major subjects (English, EVS, Math, etc.) for the assigned class.

Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and activity-based learning materials.

Use storytelling, play-way methods, and interactive techniques.

Conduct assessments, worksheets, and evaluations regularly.

Observe each child’s academic progress and behaviour.

Provide emotional support and encourage confidence and social skills.

Identify students needing extra help and support them individually.

Conduct PTMs, share updates, and guide parents for home learning.

Build a strong teacher–parent partnership.

Maintain attendance and progress reports.

Record observations and update files regularly.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Graduation with D.Ed/ B.Ed/Montessori preferred.

Experience in primary teaching is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
