SUMMARY:
Serves as Motor Vehicle Dispatcher in the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP). Responsibilities include utilization, scheduling vehicles for maintenance, and vehicle walk around safety inspections and inventory control of all assigned General Services Administration (GSA) non-tactical vehicles (NTVs). Ensures dispatch operations/procedures are followed as outlined in current standard operating procedures (SOP) and regulations and that all motor pool missions are completed in a timely manner. Provides guidance and technical expertise to his/her work section in order to accomplish tasks assigned by the supervisor. Completes paperwork and reports, assigns tasks, interfaces with customers, and performs duties listed within their job description. This position is union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Opens, closes, performs check of all vehicles at closing and secure the Motor Pool compound.
Performs other related non-exempt duties as required or assigned which may include but are not limited to inventory, reports, verbal information, schedules and other duties related to the operations of the Motor Pool.

The employee must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and explain instructions, regulations, letters, memos, emails, and other correspondence from both internal and external sources. The position requires the ability to effectively communicate with and present information to customers, clients, and employees within the organization. The employee must be able to interpret instructions and travel regulations and clearly explain them to others in the performance of job duties. Familiarity with Department of State and Passport Agency manuals, pamphlets, regulations, and the Foreign Clearance Guide is preferred. The position also requires strong computer literacy, the ability to operate standard office equipment, deliver briefings to small and large groups, perform basic mathematical tasks, maintain a high level of customer service, multitask effectively, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is generally performed in an office environment and requires sitting or standing and working on a computer for extended periods. The position also requires walking, standing, and moving about the property for prolonged periods. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining the physical ability to bend, stoop, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods, and to operate during periods of high stress. The employee must occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and may handle equipment or supplies up to 50 pounds individually and more than 50 pounds with assistance. Duties may include moderate physical effort in loading, unloading, and arranging equipment or supplies. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in environments that may be dirty, dusty, or uneven, with occasional exposure to hot, cold, damp, or drafty weather conditions. The employee must have visual acuity to review written documentation, the ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone, and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. May be exposed to inclement/extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.

All employees are required to undergo an initial background investigation as a condition of employment. Additionally, employees may be subject to subsequent background investigations if circumstances warrant, such as the emergence of a need, an issue, or probable cause.
Employees assigned to work on federal installations or projects must also comply with government-mandated background investigations, which are conducted independently of the company's investigations. Employment and continued assignment to federal installations are contingent upon successfully meeting and maintaining these requirements.
