TITLE: Mountain School Lesson Center & Facilities Attendant

SUMMARY
As a Mountain School Lesson Center & Facilities Attendant, you’ll be at the heart of Snowbird’s Mountain School operations, working in a dynamic, fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment. This role supports ski and snowboard school functions outside of instruction, with a strong focus on guest interaction, child supervision, and operational support. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and organized experience for children, parents, and instructors alike.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Facilitate age-appropriate games and activities for young children (ages 3–12) in both indoor and outdoor environments, often in cold and snowy conditions.

Serve as a primary attendant for the 3 and 4 year-old program, while also supporting all Mountain School children’s programs.

Provide lunch-time supervision and attend to children’s basic personal needs (e.g., bathroom breaks, clothing adjustments).

Assist instructors with lesson transitions and classroom management.

Support guest check-in/check-out processes and occasionally assist with lesson sales.

Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children in your care.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning center environment.

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Mountain School operations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
This role requires a high level of physical stamina, mental focus, and emotional resilience:
Physical Demands

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds (e.g., children’s gear, supplies).

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling, often on snow or icy surfaces.

Frequent movement between indoor and outdoor environments in cold, snowy, and variable weather conditions.

Ability to respond quickly and physically to ensure child safety in dynamic environments.
Mental & Emotional Demands

High levels of patience, attentiveness, and emotional intelligence when working with young children.

Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress, high-volume situations.

Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in a setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

Must be comfortable working in a noisy, energetic environment with constant interaction.
Qualifications

At least 18 years of age.

Strong guest service and communication skills.

Comfortable and experienced working with young children.

Background in childcare, education, or recreation preferred.

Familiarity with Snowbird’s Mountain School is a plus.

Willingness to work outdoors in winter conditions and indoors in a high-energy setting.

Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
