MRD Executive

Job Description: Medical Typist / MRD Executive

Department: Medical Records Department (MRD)
Reporting To: MRD In-Charge / Medical Superintendent
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Purpose

To support the Medical Records Department by ensuring accurate typing, preparation, maintenance, and management of patient medical records in compliance with hospital documentation standards, statutory requirements, and confidentiality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Typing & Documentation:

  • Type and prepare discharge summaries, operative notes, consultation reports, certificates, and other clinical documents accurately.
  • Transcribe handwritten notes or dictated medical records into standardized formats.
  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy in medical terminology, grammar, and formatting.
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation as per defined turnaround times.

Medical Records (MRD) Functions:

  • Maintain, organize, and update inpatient and outpatient medical records.
  • Verify completeness of case sheets including consent forms, investigation reports, and treatment records.
  • Index, file, retrieve, and archive patient records as per hospital policy.
  • Assist in medico-legal documentation and support internal/external audits.

System & Coordination:

  • Update patient details in Hospital Information System (HIS/EMR).
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and departments for documentation clarifications.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and data security of patient information.

Eligibility & Qualification

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Typist or in MRD within a hospital setup.
  • Graduate qualification preferred.
  • Certification in Typewriting will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital documentation practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Hospital Information Systems preferred.

  • Good typing speed with high accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of medical records management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain documentation standards.
  • Professional integrity and confidentiality compliance.

Compensation

  • Salary: To be fixed based on interview performance and experience.

Work Environment

  • Hospital setting.
  • May require flexibility in working hours as per operational requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
