Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Multi Discipline Inspector to ensure that all welding and painting/coating activities are carried out in full compliance with QatarEnergy LNG quality standards, international codes, and project specifications. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with engineering and construction teams to maintain the highest level of quality in oil & gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspection of welding activities including fit-up, joint preparation, welding processes, and final weld quality as per approved WPS and standards.
- Perform and review non-destructive testing (NDT) such as UT, MT, PT, and RT film interpretation to ensure weld integrity.
- Inspect surface preparation, coating, and painting activities in line with project specifications and coating standards.
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as ASME, API, and project-specific quality requirements.
- Review and verify inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure all work is executed as per approved procedures and method statements.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, supervisors, and client representatives during inspections and audits.
- Ensure all safety requirements, including H2S and offshore/onshore safety protocols, are strictly followed.
Requirements & Explanation:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma: Provides technical understanding of materials, welding, and coating systems.
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2: Demonstrates certified expertise in welding inspection and quality control.
- NACE Level 1 (Coating Inspector): Ensures knowledge of corrosion protection and coating inspection.
- BGAS ERS Level 2: Validates competence in coating and painting inspection standards.
- ASNT Level II (UT, MT, PT, RT): Required for performing and interpreting NDT to verify weld quality.
- H2S & T-BOSIET Training: Mandatory safety certifications for working in hazardous oil & gas environments.
- Experience (8+ Years): Ensures strong practical exposure in QA/QC, with at least 5 years in onshore gas/LNG facilities for specialized project knowledge.
