Why does the job exist?

The Multi-Level Response Supervisor is responsible for supervision of Multi-Level Response Advocates, reviews screened in reports for assignment to Multi-Level Response Advocates. Supervisor will promote staff development and skill building and support advocates in their day to day duties. The Multi-Level Response Supervisor plans, monitors, reviews, and coordinates the activities of a team of professional Family Support Advocates engaged in providing child and family well-being services to children and families through the Multi-Level Response System. The Multi-Level Response Supervisor makes determinations regarding the need to redirect cases to investigatory staff and monitors to ensure compliance of all applicable CYFD policies and procedures.
How does it get done?

(70%) The Multi-Level Response Supervisor will receive and assign screened in referrals of alleged child neglect that meet the parameters for referral to Multi-Level Response:

The supervisor will review and assign all reports received meeting the parameters for Multi-Level response.

The supervisor will conduct a follow up staffing with the Family Support Advocate upon return from the family assessment to discuss the risk/safety and needs within the family. Supervisor will provide feedback regarding the quality of the needs assessment report.

Review the workers' work product to ensure quality services and accurate and appropriate decision making.

Supervisor will ensure case notes are kept up to date in electronic case management system.

Supervisor will utilize appropriate judgment in the screening process per CYFD policy and Structured Decision Making Tool (SOM) procedure; and will uphold professional standards.

Supervisor will ensure that families are connected to appropriate community resources to reduce parental/caregiver stressors.

Process family assessment repo1ts efficiently to send to the Protective Services Investigations Unit when necessary

Supervisor will respond to workers and client needs in a professional manner and timely fashion.

Supervisor will follow and ensure compliance with all applicable CYFD policies and procedures.

Supervisor will perform other duties as assigned.

(20%) Promote staff development and support workers in skill building and program development

Supervisor will provide reflective supervision to all workers a minimum of once a month.

Provide a minimum of weekly supervision to employees with less than six months experience.

Provide a minimum of bi-weekly supervision to employees with more than six months experience.

Conduct a minimum of 2-unit meetings each month to maintain communication with staff.

Promote staff development, leadership and support to all workers, not just those within the unit.

(10%) Supervisor will maintain a professional demeanor and model a positive and professional attitude while ensuring business needs within the unit are met at all times.

Provide administrative supervision for unit, e.g., review for approval employee time sheets, leave requests, schedule shift requests, on call, etc.

Ensure unit availability to respond to urgent needs in a timely manner.

Develop and administer employee evaluations in accordance to SPO regulations with direct reports.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with other agencies and community members.

Supervisor will ensure that workers return calls within a 24-hour time period and remain available for meetings with community partners.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualification

Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Ciminology, Family Studies/Services, Social Sciences, or Human Services and two (2) years of experience as a social work assistant and/or in social or community coordination, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, and/or behavioral health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. May work under frequent time constraints. Significant travel statewide is required, approximately 25% of time.
