Educational Qualifications:
Completion of Secondary education from a recognized institution
Successfully completed formal training in the operation and use of lifting equipment
and tackle [rigging].
Basic knowledge of mechanics
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Proficiency in Spoken Arabic an advantage
Must have Qatari Heavy Duty and Equipment operation licenses(Heavy And crane
License )
Certification to operate mobile lifting equipment.
All operators must have minimum three years experience.
Experience:
Must be able to carry out operation of industrial equipment including but not limited to:
cranes (up to 250 tons), forklifts, front loader, grader, backhoe, breakdown truck,
industrial vacuum truck, heavy trucks, trailers, high lift and road sweeper. Must have
knowledge of and understand all audible and visual signals associated with equipment
operation. Must be able to carry out operation of heavy industrial vehicles including but
not limited to trucks and trailers up to 40 tons, skids, vacuum and other heavy trucks.
Must have the ability to carry out day-to-day maintenance such as checking fuel levels,
oiling, greasing, cleaning etc.
Duties and responsibilities:
Reports to the Senior Foreman, QatarEnergy heavy vehicle operations
Operating heavy vehicles and various type of heavy equipment.
Follow manufacturer’s operating instructions and observe load limitations.
Use electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic devices. Follow and ensure adherence to
safety procedures.
Use Crane or Heavy Forklift to load/unload machinery and equipment including in
confined quarters (eg. Gas plant)
Pre- start inspection of vehicle/associated equipment for effects and ensure proper
condition. Before use and periodically check associated equipment such as fittings,
ropes, hooks and slings. Report defects.
Inspects, checks and documents assigned equipment for safe operation
at the commencement of each job, this will include fuel, oil, water, battery, tires,
brakes, cables, hooks, ropes and slings/fittings and identify replacement of items as
needed.
Write reports on all serious and minor malfunctions and completes inspection
reports daily documents worn or damaged items, and check for the correct operations of
various switches and controls.
Ensure validity of vehicle documentation (including lifting certification)
Be alert to faults/equipment failure indicated by sight, sound, and loss of
performance or observation of instruments/indicators. Immediately report defects and
malfunctions.
Observe safety procedures including wearing proper clothing and equipment
Maintain daily log sheet of all activities assigned.
Perform other related duties as directed by QatarEnergy Senior Foreman or
QatarEnergy REPRESENTATIVE.
