Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We’re offering an opportunity to join Lyons as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, supporting the safe and efficient running of our production operation within a fast‑paced chilled food environment.

Working closely with Shift Managers and the wider Engineering team, you’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support installations, and contribute to continuous improvement activity across site. This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, working to priorities and making a tangible impact on performance.

What you’ll do

· Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery

· Work with Shift Managers to agree daily priorities and maintain optimal equipment performance

· Support installation projects and continuous improvement activity across site

· Maintain accurate records for work completed defects and spare parts usage

· Ensure tools, equipment and plant logs are kept up to date

· Always Work safely in line with company policies and legal requirements

· Build effective working relationships across shifts and departments

What we’re looking for

· Electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualifications

· Experience within FMCG food manufacturing (fresh, chilled or frozen)

· Knowledge of heat treatment, refrigeration/freezing and high‑speed packaging or process lines

· Strong communication skills and a practical, problem‑solving approach

· Well organised, adaptable and comfortable working independently or as part of a team

Shift pattern

8‑hour shifts over 5 days, rotating between 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm. Flexibility to work additional hours to support projects and training is required.

Pay: £45,000.00-£49,000.00 per year

Experience:

• FMCG food manufacturing (fresh, chilled or frozen): 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
• Electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualifications (preferred)
