Multimedia Communication Specialist
Location: Belmont, NC (eligible for 2 telecommute days per week once eligible)
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary Range: $64,000 – $88,000 annually
JOB PURPOSE:
The Multimedia Communication Specialist creates visual and audio communications to convey messages effectively and produce compelling stories for internal and external audiences. This role contributes to the mission of the Sisters of Mercy by visually expressing the community’s values, ministries, and messages through creative and engaging media.

As part of the communications team, the Multimedia Communication Specialist helps share stories that inspire, connect, and reflect the spirit of Mercy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, edit, and assemble raw video and audio footage into cohesive stories ready for distribution.
Produce multimedia projects such as videos, web pages, online advertising, emails, social media, and mobile content.
At the direction of the Design Manager, scout and select locations, set up lighting, record video and audio, and coordinate photo and virtual recordings.
Select and integrate music, sound effects, and voiceovers to complement visuals.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications, timelines, and budgets.
Collaborate with the communications team and other departments to tell stories and create engaging content for various platforms.
Work closely with communications staff to produce videos for campaigns and internal projects.
Organize and maintain a video library for the Sisters of Mercy and forward appropriate content to the Mercy Heritage Center for archival purposes.
Upload, back up, and organize all materials created.
Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Competencies and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, videography, graphic design, photography, or a related field preferred.
5–7 years of relevant experience required.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement design solutions for multiple departments and campaigns.
Strong creativity and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Lightroom; familiarity with color correction software, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Express, and AI tools.
Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to clearly communicate reasoning behind design choices.
Energy, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Bilingual (English–Spanish) preferred.
Experience in nonprofit organizations strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working for a religious organization.
Understanding of the role of women religious in the Roman Catholic Church and sensitivity to a faith-based culture.
Ability to travel as necessary.
