MultiMedia Journalist Reporter

WPRI 12 is seeking an innovative, driven Multimedia Journalist Reporter to join our award‑winning newsroom. This position works closely with assignment editors, producers, and newsroom leadership to deliver compelling breaking news, enterprise reporting, and daily coverage across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.

What You’ll Do
As a Multimedia Journalist Reporter, you will produce, report, write, shoot, edit, and present news content in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way for today’s news consumers.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Present on‑camera news stories that align with WPRI 12’s editorial standards and brand.
  • Pitch, research, and develop original story ideas relevant to our local communities.
  • Gather information through field interviews, research, and observation.
  • Write, edit, and revise scripts and digital content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style.
  • Shoot and edit broadcast‑quality video.
  • Produce and present stories for broadcast, web, mobile, and social platforms.
  • Make meaningful daily contributions to WPRI 12’s digital and social media platforms.
  • Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What We’re Looking For
Required qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of two years of news reporting experience.
  • Strong on‑air presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to excel at breaking news and ad‑lib confidently when needed.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple assignments, and work independently.
  • Experience shooting and editing broadcast‑quality video.
  • Proficiency with newsroom and office technology.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Fluency in English; local knowledge is a plus.
