The Multimedia Manager is an ambassador and voice for Veterans, service members and families in the state of South Carolina. The Multimedia Manager will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, writing, and managing engaging multimedia content to support the communication goals of the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs (SCDVA). This role involves producing high-quality scripts, video, photography, and graphic design assets for various platforms, including the SCDVA website, social media channels, presentations, and public awareness campaigns. By enhancing the agency's visual storytelling, the Multimedia Manager ensures that vital information regarding benefits, resources, and Veteran legacies effectively resonates with South Carolina's Veterans, their families, and the general public.
Responsibilities of the Multimedia Manager:

The Multimedia Manager/Multi-Skilled Journalist will co-lead and manage the creation of written creative content, storytelling with reporter-style presentation on camera.

Manage and lead storyboarding content, interview, and research planning.

Managers and enterprises daily story ideas for assignments/publication.

Act as the primary agency photographer for events and promotional campaigns.

Research and maintain knowledge of current photography, videography trends, concepts, styles, and equipment.

Manages and provides direction of scriptwriting process with Multimedia Coordinator and/or other Office of Public Information staff.

Travel with agency executive director and other department leaders to cover events/stories.

Other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.

- A bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations, Media Marketing, or a related field.

A minimum of 2 years college or professional newsroom experience in broadcast journalism with proven skills in on-camera reporting.

Demonstrated experience in creating engaging multimedia content (video, graphics, and scriptwriting).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
