The salary range for this position is $54,488 - $72,651. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Multimedia Producer & Photographer is responsible for creating visually compelling content that tells the YMCA of the North’s story across all platforms. This creative-technical role will lead high-quality video, photo, and livestream productions from concept through final delivery. Responsible to capture professional photography for campaigns, produce agency-level video content for marketing and leadership initiatives, and manage livestream studios to ensure consistent quality and reliability. This position combines creative vision, technical expertise, and storytelling excellence to help grow the YMCA brand and elevate member engagement.
2. Essential Functions:
Photography & Visual Storytelling

Capture high-quality photography for YMCA programs, campaigns, and marketing materials.

Conduct both studio and on-location shoots across camps, aquatics, sports, wellbeing, ForeverWell, and other programs.

Edit, retouch, and color-correct imagery for digital, print, and advertising use.

Maintain consistent brand identity and visual tone across all photo assets.
Video & Livestream Production

Lead video projects from concept to completion: planning, filming, editing, and final delivery.

Produce agency-level videos for marketing campaigns, internal communications, and executive storytelling.

Direct on-camera talent and guide subject matter experts to capture authentic, compelling performances.

Operate, manage, and troubleshoot livestream production systems for Virtual Y and other digital platforms.

Schedule, coordinate, and execute livestream events, ensuring consistent quality and brand alignment.
Studio Operations & Technical Readiness

Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, lighting, and audio systems.

Coordinate maintenance, gear upgrades, and repairs; ensure all production gear is organized and operational.

Provide on-call support for livestream or recording issues at association studios.
Post-Production & Asset Management

Edit and finalize photo and video projects using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop).

Create and apply motion graphics templates to maintain a cohesive visual identity across YMCA content.

Manage media organization, metadata, and archival for efficient reuse across campaigns.
Collaboration & Creative Strategy

Partner with Marketing, Communications, and Executive leaders to plan and deliver content that supports key initiatives.

Participate in creative concepting sessions and provide input on campaign visual strategy.

Mentor team members and contractors in creative production best practices.
Leadership and Collaboration:

Team Development: Mentor and guide contractors and team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative production environment.

Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with operations, executives, and cross-functional teams to produce video content for diverse audiences, including members, marketing campaigns, and internal communications.

Best Practices Development: Establish and maintain industry-leading standards for video production, storytelling, and digital marketing strategies.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Digital Experience and Design who reports to the SVP of Strategy and Marketing. This role interacts regularly with instructors, program leaders and staff at all levels of the organization, including marketing and fitness teams. Work direction may also come from leaders in Marketing and Fitness.
4. Qualifications:
Required

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Photography, Media Arts, or related field; demonstrated experience in professional video/photography production may be considered in lieu of degree.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading video and photo projects for marketing, storytelling, or brand campaigns.

Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop).

Strong proficiency with professional cameras (Sony, Blackmagic), lighting, and audio equipment.

Proven ability to lead projects from concept through completion with strong storytelling, composition, and project management skills.

Experience with livestream production and platforms (e.g., Vimeo, Livestream Studio).

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Ability to adapt to new technologies and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

5. Work Conditions:
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel to virtual studios to repair issues.
- Ability to be on-call to solve issues via phone, text or onsite to support studios.
- Ability to travel to YMCA Facilities and Branches, Camps, and Community Locations Across the YMCA of the North Association and Service Territory.
- Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours for events or special shoots
- Ability to lift and transport camera and lighting equipment, up to 50 lbs.
