We are seeking a Multimedia Specialist to join our dedicated and high-performing team.

To succeed in this role, you will be self-motivated and creative, with strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, visually engaging content. You will bring a positive attitude, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

As the Multimedia Specialist, you will support the development and execution of RIO's communications through graphic design, multimedia content, and digital platforms. You will partner closely with the Communications and Outreach Director and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, consistent, and engaging communications that align with RIO's mission and strategic priorities.

Summary of Work

As the Multimedia Specialist, you will:

  • Design and produce visual materials including graphics, infographics, publications, presentations, and social media content
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and administrative team to translate business needs into effective visual and multimedia solutions
  • Support the planning and execution of multimedia communications across print, digital, and social platforms
  • Create and maintain content for RIO's website and social media, ensuring information is clear, accurate, current, and visually engaging
  • Apply State and RIO branding standards across all communications and recommend improvements based on current trends and best practices
  • Assist in developing communication materials that support agency initiatives, programs, and stakeholder engagement
  • Coordinate updates and enhancements to the agency website and intranet, including layout, graphics, and user experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, or a related field; or a combination of four years of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills and experience in content development, which may include coursework, internships, or relevant work samples.
  • Experience using design, video, or content creation tools (such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar platforms), demonstrated through coursework or portfolio samples.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines, demonstrated through academic, internship, or professional work experience.

Hiring Salary Range: $4,583 - $6,250/month depending on experience
Location: Bismarck, ND, with an option to telecommute two-three days per week
