Summary

Provides archival collection processing support for Music Library and Bill Schurch Sound Archives staff and patrons.

Essential Functions

  • Arranges and describes archival materials in accordance with professional standards provided by supervisor or written in documentation materials.
  • Uses library and archival platforms as instructed by supervisor.
  • Follows standard library and archives metadata schemas as instructed by supervisor.
  • Creates metadata and inventories of archival collections as instructed by supervisor.
  • Handles rare archival materials.
  • Scans images and photocopies materials for patrons and staff.
  • Performs preservation and conservation treatments as applicable under supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May train others in operation of digital imaging equipment and software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires concentration and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills required and a desire to learn new skills on the job.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (with reasonable accommodations)
