Answer reference questions and supervise student assistants in absence of permanent staff and security of collection.

Essential Functions

• Answer reference questions from faculty, staff, students, and visiting researchers
• Assist patrons at public service desk and on phone
• Supervise student assistance in absence of permanent staff
• Enforce library policies and procedures
• Responsible for Library security, operating library security systems and emergency procedures
• Assist library staff with processing of materials
• Work with library catalog and research databases, patron records
• Circulation of materials, shelving and retrieving materials, donation assistance

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate student in Music, Popular Culture, American Culture, Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, etc.
• Customer service-oriented
• Able to follow directions
• Assist with the promotion of library materials through displays/display cases/tours
• Able to work nights and weekends as well as during the work week
• Able to scan and photocopy materials
• Ability to lift items/boxes (50 pounds or less)
