Job Purpose

To teach Western vocal and/or instrumental music, develop musical skills in students, and contribute to the school’s performing arts programmes, concerts, annual events, and competitions.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Instruction

  • Teach Western vocal and/or instrumental music (e.g., piano, guitar, drums, violin, wind instruments).
  • Conduct music classes for all designated grades as per the school timetable.
  • Prepare lesson plans, practice exercises, and performance-oriented training.
  • Teach music theory basics—notation, rhythm, scales, sight-reading, harmony.

2. Student Development

  • Identify musical talents and mentor students for competitions and stage performances.
  • Prepare students for recitals, choir events, assemblies, annual day, and inter-school events.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and appreciation of Western music genres.

3. Programme Coordination

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute school performances and events.
  • Collaborate with the Performing Arts Department for concerts, clubs, and cultural shows.
  • Manage music clubs/ensembles such as choir, band, or instrumental groups.

4. Resource & Classroom Management

  • Manage music instruments, sound equipment, and ensure proper care and storage.
  • Maintain attendance records and student progress reports.
  • Ensure safety, discipline, and a positive learning environment.

5. Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with teachers and academic coordinators to integrate music into school activities.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress when required.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Qualifications & Skills Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music (Western Music specialization preferred).
  • Certifications from Trinity College London, ABRSM, Rock School, or equivalent (added advantage).

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Western vocals and/or instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of Western music theory.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare students for stage performances.
  • Creative, patient, and student-friendly teaching approach.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
