MVA Coordinator

Overview
We are hunting for a dedicated and detail-oriented MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this fundamental role, you will oversee the coordination of patient care related to motor vehicle accidents, ensuring seamless communication among medical providers, insurance companies, and patients. This position facilitates efficient discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake process for patients involved in motor vehicle accidents, including gathering necessary documentation and verifying insurance information.
• Coordinating legal deposition conferences, IME’s, narrative reports, etc.
• Completes MVA patient intake sheets.
• Verifies liability has been accepted by 3rd party or Med Pay carrier.
• Monitoring accounts to ensure accurate and precise reimbursement.
• Answers patient questions, inquiries, and concerns regarding their accounts.
• Monitoring and following up on all MVA related Accounts Receivable.
• Liens - Preparation of liens, amendment to liens, notarizing/filing liens.
• Posts all actions and maintains permanent record of patient accounts.
• Assists with answering telephone, screening calls, and taking messages.
• Attends and schedules deposition meetings as required.
• Performs other job duties as requested not necessarily related to the job position.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of MVA billing experience.
• Medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and basic billing procedures.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, discharge planning procedures, and case management practices.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, utilization review, and utilization management processes.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and understanding of HIPAA compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
