Mountain Valley Community School has an opening for a Special Education Teacher, Life Skills, Elementary Level, to work as part of our Special Education team.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.

Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, independence, and positive behavior.

Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the successful inclusion and participation of students with special needs in the general education curriculum and classroom activities.

Differentiate instruction, materials, and assessments to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, providing appropriate scaffolding and support as needed.

Monitor student progress regularly through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions to address individual learning goals and objectives.

Case management.

We will consider Conditional certfications, if you haven't earned your full Professional certification.

We are 45 minutes from Lewiston/Auburn and 90 minutes from Portland. We have great outdoor recreation and children who need you!

Benefit for Teachers:
If a newly hired teacher (to RSU 10) is professionally certified and chooses not to take courses their first year, they qualify for up to $2500 towards existing student loans.
