Nanny/Household Manager

Live-In Nanny / House Manager

Location: Port Washington, NY
Position Type: Full-Time, Live-In
Compensation: $1,000/week (salary)

About the Role

We are a warm and attentive family seeking a reliable, nurturing, and proactive Live-In Nanny / House Manager to care for our 4 month old boy and occasionally our two year old who goes to daycare. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys maintaining an organized home environment.

You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment where our children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Compensation: $1,000/week (guaranteed salary)
  • Flexibility: Schedule may adjust slightly with mutual agreement
  • Breaks: 1 hour daily (can be split during nap times)
  • Early dismissal may occur if responsibilities are completed

Live-In Benefits (Can also be live out)

  • Private bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen provided

Paid Time Off

  • Vacation: 10 paid days per year

  • New Year’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
  • Sick Days: Up to 5 paid days annually
  • Key ResponsibilitiesChildcare & Development
  • Provide attentive, hands-on care for two children
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities (reading, music, crafts, sensory play)
  • Support developmental milestones (feeding, mobility, language, potty training, etc.)
  • Take children outdoors daily (walks, playground, activities)
  • Maintain daily routines for naps, meals, and play
  • Ensure children are clean, well-dressed, and practicing good hygiene

Meal Preparation

  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks (2 meals + 2 snacks daily)
  • Follow family nutrition guidelines (no processed foods or sweets without approval)

Household Management

(Completed during naps or downtime)

  • Keep main living areas clean and organized
  • Load/unload dishwasher, clean bottles, wipe surfaces
  • Organize toys, books, and play areas
  • Rotate toys and prepare post-nap activities
  • Weekly Children and Family laundry, making beds and changing linens
  • Restock diapers, wipes, and supplies
  • Light cleaning (vacuuming, tidying, trash)
  • Occasional organization projects (closets, pantry, etc.)
  • Assist with small household projects when children are not present

Health & Safety

  • Maintain constant supervision; children must remain within sight
  • Respond to emergencies appropriately (first aid, contact parents, call 911 if needed)
  • Administer medication only with parental approval
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Notify family immediately of illness or concerns

Workplace Expectations

  • No smoking, drugs, or alcohol
  • Minimal personal phone use while children are awake
  • No earphones during active childcare
  • No screen time for children
  • Use positive discipline techniques only (no physical discipline)
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Requirements

  • Prior nanny or childcare experience required
  • Knowledge of early childhood development preferred
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive
  • Comfortable with a live-in arrangement
  • Strong communication skills

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
