Part-Time Nanny & Household Manager

About Our Family

We are a professional couple in Birmingham seeking a reliable, proactive, and highly organized individual to support both childcare and household management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, anticipating needs, and helping a home run smoothly.

Job Overview
This is a 90% in-person role combining childcare, household support, and light home management. We are looking for someone who can not only care for our child but also take initiative in managing day-to-day household tasks.

Responsibilities

Childcare

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for infant/young child
• Manage feedings, naps, and daily routines
• Engage in age-appropriate developmental activities
• Maintain a safe and clean environment

Household Management

• Grocery shopping and household inventory management
• Ordering household supplies (diapers, toiletries, etc.)
• Light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, dishes—not deep cleaning)
• Meal prep or light cooking (as needed)
• Organizing and maintaining household systems

General Support

• Running errands (returns, pickups, etc.)
• Coordinating occasional service providers (cleaners, maintenance)
• Helping keep the household running smoothly and efficiently

Qualifications

• Proven experience in nannying or childcare roles, including working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
• Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
• Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic environment for children and the household.
• Ability to prepare healthy meals and snacks suitable for children’s dietary needs.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents and other caregivers.
• Demonstrated patience, reliability, and positive attitude in caregiving roles.

Schedule

• Approximately 25–30 hours per week
• Flexible schedule (to be discussed)

Pay: $19.50 - $22.50 per hour
