General Summary
The Director National Accounts is responsible for achieving the revenue and commercial objectives for prescription and consumer health business in independent pharmacies, and all classes of trade for Headquarter Accounts. In addition to leading a team of National Account Directors, National Account Managers and a Manager of Pharmacy Sales, the Director of National Accounts is responsible for executing the distribution plan for all product launches
Essential Duties
  • Responsible for National Accounts to achieve sales and key account objectives with Wholesalers, Chains, Gov’t, Hospital and Retail GPO's, Mail Order and other headquarter accounts.
  • Achieve objectives for accounts personally assigned to the Director National Accounts.
  • Develop channel strategies for key products: independent pharmacy, chains, mail order, wholesaler and LTC.
  • Achieve revenue objectives for Upsher-Smith products.
  • Manage expenses within the approved budget.
  • Achieve sales and margin objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Lead product launch activities for Upsher-Smith prescription products.
  • Actively participate in Generic Portfolio Team by contributing strategy and implementing tactics that maximize margin potential of the portfolio.
  • Create a positive work environment that focuses on engaging the sales team and creating positive customer experiences.
  • Develop quarterly and annual business plans that identify issues and priorities for key products and for key customers.
  • Participate in and provide support to cross-functional teams requiring sales department input.
Experience Type
12 years Generic industry pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 10 years of Generic industry national account management experience in chains and wholesalers, and a minimum of 5 years of sales management experience.
Travel Requirements Up to 25%
Compensation Range:
$196,304.00 - $294,455.00
