Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated NC Pre K Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education in a dynamic classroom environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with lead teachers to foster a nurturing and engaging space for young learners. This role is vital in promoting childhood development, literacy, and math skills, ensuring that children receive a high-quality educational experience aligned with curriculum standards. Prior experience in childcare, preschool settings, or private schools is preferred, along with a strong understanding of classroom management and behavior guidance techniques. The Teacher Assistant will contribute to creating an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those with autism and disabilities.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall early childhood education.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through daily routines.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Help prepare educational materials and set up learning centers aligned with curriculum development goals.
- Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or behavioral challenges, including those with autism or disabilities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Foster effective communication with children, parents, and staff to support student progress and well-being.
- Assist with documentation of student progress and participate in ongoing training related to childhood development and curriculum updates.
Skills
MUST have an associate degree in early childhood
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles, including Montessori, toddler care, preschool experience, and daycare practices.
- Knowledge of special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with children with disabilities or autism.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics efficiently while maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction for young learners, and childhood development milestones.
- Experience working with children in diverse settings such as private schools or daycare centers is highly desirable.
- Compassionate attitude towards working with young children and those requiring additional behavioral or developmental support.
