Location Description:
Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love. Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start.

Qualifications:
JOB FUNCTION
Experienced Specialist in production or material handling with full responsibility for the overall performance and meeting targets set for the assigned unit of operation. A Specialist can understand and perform essential repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance. The position responds appropriately to upset conditions and requires considerable judgment in determining work methods, performing daily tasks, and improving processes using data-driven decisions. This position may have full responsibility in minor projects and will provide work direction to Operators. This position is required to support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures operations within the assigned work area are efficient and meet assigned targets.
2. Provides work direction to operator support to optimize operations.
3. Maintains and demonstrates a high level of technical understanding regarding individual process and impact on yield, rate, and availability.
4. Identifies, corrects, or escalates performance conditions that negatively impact safety, quality, rate, yield, and uptime.
5. Performs and leads timely and efficient equipment, material, and product changeovers within standard time and safely.
6. Actively participates in root cause analysis and drives corrective actions through resolution.
7. Thorough knowledge and understanding of SQF requirements, including the ability to determine the resolution of upset conditions
8. Supports, directs and performs Basic Equipment Care (BEC) tasks accurately and timely.
9. Records accurate data required for measuring the overall performance of the assigned unit.
10. Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities.
11. Participates in all related programs improving product quality, efficiency, and related preventative maintenance programs.
12. Supports, implements, and maintains food safety and quality practices as required through SQF, AIB, or other requirements.
13. Maintains clean work areas, performs sanitation audits, and develops action plans to correct problem areas.
14. Works in rotation as a member of the production or distribution team.
15. Trains and coaches other employees learning new equipment, processes, and/or procedures.
16. Responsible for sign-off of new employee training documentation, ensuring the employee is competent in the assigned task.
17. Provide support to Operations Lead.
18. Participates in special projects, assignments, and training.
19. Assists in other areas of the operation upon request.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 1-2 years of food manufacturing or related experience is a plus.
- Good work history and acceptable attendance.
Skills:
- Advanced level mechanical knowledge to include the ability to learn and operate all related production equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Ability to provide work direction to ensure efficiency across the assigned unit.
- Ability to recognize opportunities to drive improved line performance through continuous improvement.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment and build positive professional relationships.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms in English.
- Ability to problem solve and deal with various variables in situations where standardizations and alternatives may or may not exist.
Physical requirements
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Standing, kneeling, climbing, and walking for extended periods of the day; capable of repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling with weight ranges up to 50 pounds; ability to perform repeated twisting, bending, and reaching of upper and lower extremities; exposure to hot and/or humid environments, heights up to 30 ft., working on ladders, and confined spaces.
Schedule requirements:
- Ability to work an assigned 12-hour rotating shift (HIJK)
