Role Objective & Responsibilities
To perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities of Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) in support of Typhoon operations, following RSAF Typhoon maintenance policies and ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation Exposition and Quality Management System.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform all NDI activities within the scope of the test regime.
- Deputise for the NDI Lead as required.
- Manage manpower by coordinating with Specialist Supervisors to ensure aircraft readiness.
- Submit TQs and TPRF, including implementing all Technical Instructions and Modifications.
- Ensure correct use of electronic data systems and adherence to procedures.
- Maintain accessible Depth Management & Customer reports.
- Support the NDI Lead in managing facilities, reporting damages or defects promptly.
- Ensure personnel follow proper engineering practices and safety precautions.
- Conduct shift handovers and maintain daily diaries.
- Perform tool control checks and verify the accuracy of airworthiness tools.
- Assist in addressing QA or HQ reports and investigations.
- Prepare equipment for calibration as per procedures.
- Promote safety programs like 'spot it report it', SORT, and FOD prevention.
- Raise discrepancy reports for damaged or unfit items received from supply.
- Serve as SME for troubleshooting and fault finding.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum 7 years' post-qualification maintenance experience in an operational aircraft environment or 3 years on the same aircraft type.
- Attained Specialist Level 2 NDI qualification (e.g., EN4179, ASNT, PCN) in at least 4 methods (PT, MT, ET, UT).
- Holds 2nd signature.
- Relevant equipment-specific and type training ('Q' Course).
- Leadership skills and supervisory experience.
Desirable:
- Broad aerospace and defense industry knowledge.
- Understanding of company and RSAF/RAF procedures.
- Experience delivering workplace training.
- Familiarity with electronic reporting systems like ESS.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
- Completed recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Experience with EASA Part 145 standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills for coordination and decision-making.
Safety & SHE Responsibilities
Adherence to SHE policies, participation in safety meetings, and reporting incidents. Completion of mandatory SHE training is required. The incumbent must comply with safety and environmental plans and highlight safety concerns as needed.
