NDT Inspector

• Perform NDT inspections using UT, MT, PT, RT, ECT, and VT methods on welds, materials, and components.

• Evaluate indications, identify discontinuities, and determine acceptability as per ASME, API, AWS, ISO, and client specifications.

• Interpret codes, standards, and specifications to ensure compliance in inspection activities.

• Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports with test results, interpretations, and recommendations.

• Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of inspections.

• Support QA/QC teams during fabrication, construction, maintenance, and shutdown projects.

• Communicate inspection findings to engineers, clients, and project teams, recommending corrective actions where required.

• Ensure inspections are carried out safely and in accordance with company and regulatory HSE standards.

• Timely completion of inspection schedules and reports as per project and client requirements.

• Accuracy and completeness of inspection reports and recommendations.

• Compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.

• Effective coordination with cross-functional teams leading to minimal downtime.

• Timely closure of identified non-conformities and follow-up actions.

• Positive feedback from clients and stakeholders on inspection quality and professionalism.

• Compliance with API, ASME, ISO, ASTM, and LEEA standards in all inspection deliverable as applicable.

• Accuracy and reliability of defect detection and interpretation across all NDT methods.

• Quality and completeness of inspection records and reports.

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Metallurgy, or related Engineering discipline (preferred).

Valid certifications in:

UT (Ultrasonic Testing – Level II)

MT (Magnetic Testing – Level II)

PT (Liquid Penetrant Testing – Level II)

RT (Radiographic Testing – Level II, and/or including film interpretation)

ECT (Eddy Current Testing – Level II)

VT (Visual Testing – Level II)

Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on NDT inspection experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or heavy fabrication industries.

Strong knowledge of ASME, AWS, API, ISO 9712, and ASTM standards.

Familiarity with welding processes, metallurgy, and common defect types.

Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, weld maps, and inspection isometrics.

Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

Computer literacy with NDT reporting and data management tools.

Skilled in flaw detection, sizing, and characterization using UT.

Proficiency in surface inspection methods (MT, PT, VT) for welds and materials.

Competence in RT interpretation for weld quality and defect analysis.

Expertise in ECT for crack detection, conductivity, and surface/subsurface flaw evaluation.

Ability to calibrate, set up, and operate a wide range of NDT equipment.

Knowledge of welding processes, heat treatments, and defect formation mechanisms.

Competence in preparing inspection reports, NCRs, and recommendations.

Strong understanding of safety requirements in handling radiation sources and performing inspections in hazardous environments.
